Only the Guru

1985-05-27
"You know that we cannot take anything with us. Only the Guru can take with him something. Nobody else can take. Only the Guru has all the disciples and disciples and disciples for ages who will sing the praise. No other relationship is that eternal. It goes on reflecting for ages and ages and ages. It's one wave that falls and disappears, in anything that you do every wave disappears, but not the wave of knowledge from a Guru. It's even higher than the Divine principle; because it explains. The Divine principle cannot explain, it is the Guru who explains it. Not that it manifests but it explains and it works out, so he is the master of the Divine Power."

Thinking

"Whatever you have done is through spontaneity, because the Unconscious has helped you, has given you the idea, the inspiration; you have done everything through in spirit and not by your own thinking. Now, there we do not want to agree, because we have to give up our ego, because we think we have achieved it through our thinking. But when you think too much, too much, too much, like that, then what happens? The Unconscious gives you the necessary information because it has compassion, it just has love for you and suddenly you find something there. You are just pushed into that corner where you find it, and for this you must know it is Einstein is the person who says that the theory of relativity dawned on him from somewhere unknown; whatever is known is already there. And whatever is unknown you cannot find out by this brain which is thinking, but by the brain which is enlightened."

You have to become that quality

"All this when we say that you are 'this'. There's no need to be puffed up, you see, if I tell a little tree that you are going to be a big tree, doesn't mean it has become a big tree. One has to become the big tree by pushing forward. And that quality like Gyaneshwara, like Tukarama, like Ramadasa, you all have to become that quality. They never saw Me; I just nourished them without them seeing me. But they nourished themselves: on their own virtues, on their own qualities, on their own greatness. You have to be great like that. Instead of that, if you live with false notions about yourself, artificial things, absurd ideas, all nonsense that we have gathered: through our upbringing, through our rationality, through our reading, through other gurus, and our own mental projections are going to be extremely dangerous, for every individual Sahaja Yogi, and as a whole, it will effect."

Satanic forces

History repeats itself… as you know very well, all the satanic forces which one had to face, one at a time… are all back on the stage… and they are to be defeated. The greatest problem of modern times is that these satanic forces have taken a very subtle form… and they enter into your psyche, and into your egos. And you are the Saints… you are the bhaktas… you are the devotees of the Goddess - so it's a very delicate situation.
When the confusion is there… when the Saints are attacked, the aggressor can be removed… but, the Saints become mixed up, or confused with those negative forces… in which it is very difficult to make him see the light. But you have seen the situation very well… and the subtler you grow, the subtler they become… and they start giving you ideas which are so negative. But you cannot see them. So the problem today is very delicate - there are no absolute Saints… there are no absolute bad people… such a mixture… a confusion - that is what this Kali yuga is… these modern times are.

The only way to get rid of them is to surrender… that's the only way… there is no other way out… because when you surrender… the spirits, the negativity, the satanic forces just disappear. They have no interest in a person who is surrendered to God. They cannot surrender. If they surrender… they'll also become Saints. All the time to think… 'what are my catches… what are my negativities' is not going to help you… just surrender all these ideas that are coming to you… and you will find that all absurd ideas will run away. This is the easiest way to get rid of your problems… is just to surrender

Clearing the attention

The attention can be concentrated now, after Realisation only. But even realised souls have to work it out. This is the biggest problem that I think I see, that our attentiion is so distributed we cannot do anything in a concentrated manner. That’s why there is guru shopping also going on…
So to clear the attention, clear this garbage into that clear-cut, beautiful lake, you have to go within. You have to allow it to sediment. You have to take pride. By its own nature it will come, the beauty. And then you will see a ripple in that lake within you, a peaceful space in which you will see the bliss of God flowing into you, through you, you observing it and seeing it manifesting into the other. That is what needs to be asked for. No mental activity can do that. It is only the desire to be that works it. Mental activity, rationality, saps it. Through rationality, you cannot reach God…
It is said, “Those who will be blessed have to humble down in their heart.” It is very true. It is very, very true that we have to humble down in our hearts, so that it will work. And keep your attention steady…
So just try to humble down in your heart and it will work out. Every time you get your touching of the kundalini or, you can say, the breakthrough, every time you get that experience, keep it in your memory and desire for it and it will work out. Do not keep in memory the faults that you have had, where you have been.
When you climb up on top of a hill or a mountain, you don’t remember all the ditches you have fallen into in your chuildhood. You enjoy the atmosphere on the hilltop. Make it a strong memory within you and try to keep it there.

How the heart goes mental and how to attain divinity and spirituality

…"Another way is that you start seeing the blessings and you start seeing how you feel physically, emotionally and spiritually. Still on the mental level most of the people recognize but unless and until it is recognized in the heart it is no recognition. Already the heart is surrounded by seven auras of the seven Chakras and the Spirit (Atma) resides in the heart. As it is on top of your head resides God Almighty Sadashiva. When Kundalini touches that point your Spirit starts spreading and it starts acting on your central nervous system because automatically the vibrations, the Chaitanya flow into your brain, which enlightens your nerves. But still recognition of the heart is not there. Even without that you start feeling the cool breeze. You can raise Kundalini of others. You can cure people. You can do many things but still it is not recognition because recognition is mental activity of the heart. How can heart have a mental activity? This is another problem you face-i.e. The mental activity of the heart. Say you are a Christian born in a Christian family; as soon as you see the photograph of Christ you feel something in the heart. If you are a Hindu and you see a photograph of Shri Ram, immediately it's recognition in that heart.

But the recognition of somebody living with you is very very difficult and you live on the cusp of your mental activities only. But to go deep down into your heart, what should be done? How can the mental activity be performed through the heart you must remember that heart is absolutely connected with the brain? When heart fails the brain also fails. The whole body goes out of order. So this mental activity of the heart is to be understood this way that as soon as you see danger, without even thinking, in a reflex way your heart starts pumping more blood and you get palpitation. It is a reflex action. This activity takes place because it is built in within you. That as soon as you see emergency your sympathetic nervous system goes into activity and you start feeling the fear, the desire to do something about it, but you do not think, you just run. The fear is built in the central nervous system. Any reaction or response is built in. but the response to the Spirituality is yet not manifested. It will manifest. Through your past you have learnt that you have to be afraid of this or that. With the experience gradually you built in reaction of reflex within you so that you try to save yourself. What experience should you have to build that in your heart? This experience is of your own Divinity and Spirituality. Once you start developing that experience then you know that you are Divine person.
Unless and until you are fully aware that you are a Divine person, whatsoever faith you may have in the recognition is not complete because the one who is recognizing me is a blind person."

Swadistan

"The right side looks after our intelligence, thinking etc. the left side looks after our emotional side. I will tell you about one Chakra, which is Swadisthana, which moves around the void. This is the one, which is responsible for producing or manufacturing the aortic plexus that's only in the physical side. When we think the energy we use in our thinking is used up. We are using our brain all the time. What is replacing it is this center. You know the brain is made of fat cells. This center converts the fat of the stomach for the use of the brain and that how those who think too much go into imbalances. Futuristic people are planning all the time. The poor center which has to do other jobs like looking after liver, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, intestines, so with a right-sided futuristic person the first problem can come is with the liver. In the medical science I don't think they have much knowledge about the liver. It is a very important organ in the body
.. The function of the liver is to absorb all the poison of the body and convert it into heat, which passes through the blood stream when you start thinking, too much you neglect your liver and then the poor thing does not know how to do this job. So the whole is saturated in the stomach. The person has heat here, then the heat starts passing upwards through the right heart. It creates problem and that problem is called Asthma. Then this heat passes into the throat, which creates a kind of a cold where you will sneeze twenty times in the morning. There are two types of liver. One is lethargic liver and the other is overactive liver. I am talking of the over active liver, where a person develops cold, sneezing, temper, anger, acidity and tension. Then this heat passes over and can go to the heart at a very young age. Supposing there are boys who are playing tennis or exercise of a vigorous nature and drinking this might affect and can cause a massive heart attack at a very young age. The same heat when it passes to the throat we develop throat trouble, hoarseness etc. when it moves down to your pancreas then the poor pancreas is also suffering because it has no energy from the center. Then a person develops diabetes. Too much of thinking gives diabetes. People think too much, sugar gives diabetes. In Maharashtra people drink tea where sugar is so much that the spoon stand up. Nobody gets diabetes because they are villagers, living simple lives, not thinking of tomorrow, how to do this or that. Only the people lives simple, not thinking of tomorrow, how to do this or that. Only the people who are sitting on their seats, planning thinking, worrying gets diabetes.

Rising

"So, after realisation, you are very well protected. You have all the blessings and a great future. You also have a great possibility of annihilation. I would say, to give an analogy; you are climbing, and everyone is supporting you to climb, holding your hand, and there are so many things by which you are protected to be taken upward, there is no possibility of falling off also, but, if you try to remove your bondages with truth and love and all the time try to hit the people who are trying to support you – then you fall from a great height, greater height. I mean the greater height you rise, the greater you fall. And with great force also, much more deeper. But every effort is made by the Divine, every support given to you, every care is taken.. Despite that, if you want to fall, then from that height is very dangerous."

The Love Of Life

ESU “JESUS” SANANDA Good evening, my scribe. It is I, Esu “Jesus” Sananda, come in the Radiance and Oneness of Creator God, The One Light. Blessings and peace, dear ones.

Allow for the natural unfolding of events surrounding these times of swift change. Abrupt shifts in focus will become necessary for MANY in the coming weeks, months, and years. This is to say that where you think you are heading is, in all likelihood, quite a bit different than where you will eventually be. Many of you will have experiences that will cause sudden and abrupt changes of priority and focus, thus leading you down a path you may never have considered prior.

Allow for the spontaneous unfolding of life and living. Be ever diligent to remain flexible in your thinking and reasoning, so as to allow for these sudden shifts in “reality”. In many cases your very ability to adapt to new and quickly changing situations will further enhance your survivability, and thus further your opportunities to experience and grow within the present, chosen physical environment.

Never underestimate your ability to adapt to new situations. Regardless of age or state of physical health, and regardless of the amount of “chaos” that may be unfolding around you, with the proper mental outlook and ability to stay centered and balanced, you can connect within for the Guidance to find an appropriate course of action that will further enhance your experience.

In times of sudden change (many would call such events “disasters”), ones often become overwhelmed with the abruptness of the “reality” shift, and become paralyzed as they wrestle with the inner emotional energy surges of shock and disbelief. In such states of paralysis, these ones will be looking for answers and understanding, as well as guidance in terms of what they should do.

Be quick to ground yourself in an understanding of the Larger Perspective—in which you are a student in a schoolroom, and the experiences you encounter are for a reason. Whatever crosses your path is no accident, and there is opportunity to learn and grow from ALL things.

Regardless of your perceptions in a time of seeming “chaos”, please remember that ALL experiences have a POSITIVE growth potential associated with them when viewed from the spiritual level from which you all originate and shall return. Each day you are faced with a series of choices and decisions that further lead to new and forever changing situations.

Abrupt change often serves you in such a way that you are caused to more deliberately focus your attention in a manner that will “quicken” the process of making choices and decisions. In such times ones are often caused to focus upon the “things” in life that are REALLY important.

For example, let us consider the situation where you are on an airplane and, while in mid-flight, it becomes evident that there is a serious problem with the aircraft. It is suddenly announced that there is need to prepare for a crash landing.

What goes through your mind? Do you worry about the mortgage payment or what the stock market is doing? Do you worry about ANY of those “precious pots of gold” at the end of the ever elusive rainbow you’ve been chasing most of your life?

No.

Most ones confronted with such situations quickly distill the clutter and superfluous “garbage” down to what is REALLY important. You ponder family and loved ones, and regret any missed opportunity to give them a hug and tell them one last time how much they are dearly appreciated and loved. This can be quite a powerful and insightful experience—especially for those who survive same. These “graduates” are often left with a very lasting appreciation for what is TRULY important in life.

In such situations, you will always regret recent harshness toward a loved one, and pray for the opportunity to “make things right”. Never does one pray for the opportunity to survive so that they can make their next credit card payment. Nor is it the fancy cars or the large houses or the bank accounts that may have once represented security and safety.

No, dear ones, the important things in life are the acts of kindness toward others and the expressions of appreciation for the subtle riches of, say, the grandchildren’s smiles when you give them a hug, or the opportunity to tell someone how special they really are.

Sudden, impacting change should thus be viewed as a great catalyst for inner growth and understanding. Never are such abrupt shifts actually the “disasters” they are often regarded to be from a purely physical perspective.

ALL experience offers you an opportunity to express your uniqueness, as well as appreciate the uniqueness in others. Sometimes you will playfully ask one another: “What if you were given only 24 hours to live? What would you do?” This may seem like an innocent game, however, there is a bit of wisdom in pondering such queries with a moment of serious contemplation.

Those who go through and survive things that would be considered “near-death experiences” often emerge as “changed” people. There is usually a greater appreciation for the more simple and subtle things in life— especially interactions with loved ones who may have previously been taken for granted.

Would not such LEARNED appreciation be a valuable lesson to acquire without the need for a seemingly negative event? Often souls experiencing in the physical become too caught-up in a multitude of distractions, and severely neglect the REAL reason they came forth to experience in the physical. Usually the “tragedies” which ones are faced with leave them with a greater awareness of what they had, but simply did not fully appreciate until it was “too late”.
You ones can avoid many lessons of perceived “harshness” if you learn to appreciate those seemingly small things in life that often get taken for granted. Take the time to pull yourself out of those constant preoccupations with self-distraction long enough to really see what it is that is TRULY important. There is no need to wait until the time when it is “too late”—and yet the majority do exactly that.

Be quick to give appreciation to others and be slow to criticize. Look not to blame another for YOUR emotional state, and know that YOU are responsible for your “bad” days as much as the “good” ones.

There are no victims in life; all experiences that directly or indirectly impact you are for one very good reason—to help you to recognize and appreciate the Lighted God-force Potential within self. In doing so, you will then be able to recognize same within ALL others. A great, effortless appreciation for ALL ones and ALL life will then become a part of your experience, and you will begin to know what TRUE happiness is.

Learn to live your life without regrets. If you have regrets now, then do your best to alleviate them. There is no need to dwell upon past “mistakes”. The very fact that you can recognize a past choice or decision as a “mistake” says that you have learned a valuable lesson from same. Take the value from the experience and go forward with a greater understanding, and use it to help others.

Often the best method of teaching is to use yourself as the example, for it shows understanding and compassion, and therefore the impacting is much greater. Please know that you are never too old, sick, or weak to either teach another or learn something new yourself.

One of the most valuable skills ones can learn while in the physical is to recognize the many subtle things they have in their lives for which to be appreciative. Each person reading this message can find much more than one thing in their life to be appreciative for having as a part of their experience.

Look at the seemingly small things and examine them closely: What is common in each? How can the small insights help you to notice more things in your life to be appreciative for? Time spent examining these small, subtle things can and will lead to great insights, understanding, and wisdom.

Knowledge without wisdom most often leads to corruption and, eventually, destruction. Seek out true understanding and wisdom, and all the riches of heaven will be poured out to you, and you will know true happiness. Seek out the physical world’s “riches” as a means to finding happiness, and you will, without fail, be creating a cold and lonely “prison” from which you will eventually seek escape.

Look inward for your Guidance at all times and learn to trust your intuition. Your Inner Guidance (conscience) is what will enable you to adapt to any situation and see good in all experience, regardless of the physical outcome.

I am Esu “Jesus” Sananda, a fellow traveler along the infinite journey of Life. I am merely one who has traveled a bit further down the “road” of Understanding, and I have come to appreciate the opportunities, like this one, to help any and all who seek my assistance.

May the Light of Father-Mother Creator Source—The One Light—forever be recognized within your heart, mind, and soul, so that you never feel that you are somehow abandoned or forsaken, for that shall never be. You are dearly loved and appreciated without conditions.

In Light, Love, and Appreciation—Salu.

Navaratri Puja 1985

... So the ascent starts evolving in that the play of the Devi is the Navaratri. In your ascent from ages, Navaratri that's why is the most important Puja. In Sahaja Yoga, Navaratri is the most important puja. Though we can say in modern Sahaja Yoga Sahasrara Day is, because that's how you started getting your Realization. But if you go to the whole historical events of evolution you'll find Navaratri is the one which has brought you to Sahasrara. Without the help of the Devi at different stages of your ascent, you could not have been in a position to receive your Realization. So all the steps that you took in the past are today worshipped and are used for thanking the Devi for what She did to bring you down. So it's like a thanksgiving. Without Her work nothing could have happened. So when we read about the Devi, about Her incarnations, how She came on this earth to save Her bhaktas, people who are trying to ascend, to cross this Bhavasagara, how She worked hard, how She fought the devils, how She fought, She killed the demons single-handed, She took upon Herself the responsibility of making the people cross the Bhavasagara. Guru gave you the strength, taught dharma, but She's the one who brought you out. Even those who were dharmic could not do it because of the demonic pressure. She's the one who fought single-handed with Her powers of destruction. In Her love for you She fought, She brought you to this level. And then She took a milder form of incarnation. Even during the time of all the gurus She took the form of, as you know, Janaki was the daughter of Janaka. Then Fatima was the daughter of Mohammed Sahib and Nanaki was the sister of Nanaka. In those forms, these Powers sustained and nourished the Guru Tattwa and later on or sometimes simultaneously They incarnated in milder forms to help human beings to rise. So today is the day of thanksgiving. As Guru Puja is a day of thanksgiving to your Guru, the One who has counsel you, the One who has told you about the truth, the One who has taught you the truth and has given you Realization. And the Devi Puja is a thanksgiving where single-handed, just like a very loving mother, under Her sari She's protected you, fought for you, fought with every enemy that is around, every sort of problems that existed and ultimately brought into Sahasrara level and then gave you Realization. It's a real thanksgiving to the Mother. So we can say Navaratri's like a Mother's Day where you give thanksgiving to Her, which was just relentless, continuous working for Her children.

H.H.Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, extract from Navaratri 1985, Switzerland

Why Shri Gauri produce Shri Ganesha

"Gauri is the Mother of Shri Ganesha and She produced Shri Ganesha because She was having a bath and to protect Her chastity She created Shri Ganesha. In the same way Kundalini is the Gauri and we have got Ganesha sitting in the Mooladhara chakra. So we have Mooladhara as the abode of the Gauri, of Kundalini, and the protection of the Kundalini is done by Shri Ganesha. As you know, Shri Ganesha is the deity which is for our innocence. Only Shri Ganesha could be there in that position because as you know the pelvic plexus looks after all the excretory functions, and it is Shri Ganesha only who can really stay there without getting dirty by the surroundings: He is so pure, He is so innocent. While the Kundalini is the virgin, the Virgin Mother of Shri Ganesha. People have started talking against Mary by saying that there was something wrong, how could a virgin get a child because we do not understand it is God and in the area of God anything is possible. They're above all these things and they can create anything and in any way Ganesha had to be born out of a virgin because He was so pure. So Kundalini has to be supported by Shri Ganesh. If Shri Ganesha is weak, then Kundalini cannot be supported. Shri Ganesha has to support Her in the awakening part first of all. When the Kundalini is getting awakened, Shri Ganesha stops all the functions that it has to perform. All the functions are stopped so that – you must have seen, I sit for 9 hours, 10 hours sometimes – I don't get up because all functions of Shri Ganesha, everything stops when the Kundalini is rising. She is fully supported and looked after by Shri Ganesha." (Shri Gauri Puja, Auckland, NZ. 1991-04-08) sent earlier on nirmalite by Kuntall SoodShri Ganesha and Maharastra (Ashtavinyaka)"Maharastra is the country where I would say the Ganesha principle is very strong. Because there are 8 Ganeshas which have come out of the Mother Earth. And all the three powers are represented by Mother Earth also here, Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati. So the whole place is very vibrated, the Mother Earth is very much vibrated. Now if you have any problem by Mooladhara, for example, on this land if you sit down on the ground, put my photograph in front of you, put your left hand towards the photograph and the right hand on the Mother Earth, and say the mantra of Shri Ganesha and the Ganesha Athvarva Sheersha, your left side will be cured. ... so if you take vibrations on the left hand side then you clear out your Mooladhara in such a manner that the problems of the Mooladhara are solved. That is very important for all of us. This you can't do anywhere else that good, I mean you can of course, Mother Earth is everywhere, but here it is a special place for Mooladhara Chakra, where it clears you very much and fills you up with holiness and auspiciousness. ... you can cleanse it through your Mooladhara. There are only two ways you can clear out your left side, one is your Agnya, another is your Mooladhara.

How to Awaken Shri Ganeshas Power within You (Prayer)With right hand to the photo and left hand on the groundShri Ganesha, I am going to be worthy of Your attention,Please make me innocent, so that I am in Your attention.Shri Mother, You who are Shri Ganesha,Please give me wisdom and discrimination.

(H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi - Sahaja Yoga Mantra Book, pg 30)

Where is your attention

The Spirit has come just like a vision to you, an experience to you, but the growth of your being has not yet started and if it has started it's so slow that you may not achieve much in one lifetime, because your attention is on all various things. You have been misidentified from the very beginning, since the time you were amoeba you have been misidentified. The matter played a big role in your life, so matter was important. Then all the five elements that are within us were very important to us because we can see them, feel them, we have lived them for years, thousands and thousands of years. So they are part and parcel of your being and that is why you are so much identified with it. That should be, no doubt. But in the living process it never happens like that. There are some seeds which grow so fast that within one year they become trees after they have been sprouted. They bear fruit in one year's time. Some trees are such, but some of them linger on and linger on and linger on and they take too much time. So much so that maybe when they are not yet fully developed, any storm, any wind, any one of these things can just push them down. So you have to make a rapid growth within. Even after realization I have seen people do not pay attention to their Spirit. So for every Sahaj Yogi today I would say they have to ask, "Where is your attention, Mister? Or Missus or Miss, whatever it is. Where is your attention?"

-- Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

Detachment

So the body demands comfort, try to make body uncomfortable a little bit, try. What you think it to be comfortable, try to make it little uncomfortable. That's why people went to Himalayas. You see, coming to this place itself has caused us lot of problems. So going to Himalayas - you can imagine. So after Realization they used to take their body to Himalayas, "All right, go through all this. Let's see how you act." So what you call the penance side starts now. In a way, it's a penance which you can do very easily because now you are realized souls. With enjoyment, little, try to make this body. ...So it is the ocean that is the Spirit, while your brain is limited. So the detachment from your limited brain has to be brought in. All limitations of brain should be broken so that when this ocean fills that brain it should break that little cup, and every bit of that cup should become colorful. The whole atmosphere, everything, whatever you locate, should be colorful. Color of the Spirit is the light of the Spirit and this light of the Spirit acts, works, thinks, coordinates, does everything. This is the reason today I decided to bring Shiva Tattwa to the brain. The first procedure is to take your brain towards the Shiva Tattwa by telling it, "See where are you going, Mr. Brain? Putting attention to this, putting attention to that, getting involved! Now detach, become the brain yourself. Only the brain. Detach, Detach."And then, take this detached brain, completely filled with the color of the Spirit. It will automatically happen. As long as you'll have these limitations to your attention, it will not happen. So one has to really, deliberately do this tapasya. Every individual. I'm with you, so you don't need any puja that way. But that state has to be achieved, and for achieving that state, you need the puja.I hope so many of you will become the Shiva tattwas in my lifetime. But don't think I'm asking you to suffer. There is no suffering in this kind of an ascent. If you understand that this is the complete joyous state, that is the time when you become Niranand. That's the joy named in the Sahasrara, the name of the joy is Niranand, and you know your Mother's name is Nira. So you become Niranand.
